Who we are

Skill Circle Limited ("we", "us") runs a business analysis mentoring platform based in New Zealand. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. It covers our website, mentoring programmes, events, newsletters, and any form you complete, including LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run our mentoring services. You give us this information directly when you:

• Complete a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form: name, email, phone number, job title, company, location, and your answers to any custom questions

• Book a session or join a programme: contact details, career background, goals, and CV or LinkedIn profile if you share them

• Register for an event or webinar: name, email, and attendance

• Subscribe to our newsletter: name and email

• Contact us: anything you choose to include in your message

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, ethnicity, or financial details.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Respond to your enquiry and contact you about the programme or event you asked about

• Match you with a mentor and run your mentoring sessions

• Send programme updates, resources, and event invitations

• Send our newsletter, if you opted in

• Improve our programmes and website

• Meet our legal and accounting obligations

We never sell or rent your personal information. We only send marketing emails when you agree to receive them, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

We share your information only when we need to deliver our services:

• Mentors in the Skill Circle network, so they can prepare for and run your sessions

• Service providers who help us operate, such as email, scheduling, video meeting, and cloud storage tools. They may store data outside New Zealand. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act 2020.

• LinkedIn, which collects and processes Lead Gen Form data under its own privacy policy

• Authorities, when the law requires us to

We never share your details with other businesses for their own marketing.

Storage, security and retention

We store your information in secure, password protected systems and limit access to people who need it. If a privacy breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

We keep your information only as long as we need it:

• Enquiries and leads that do not progress: up to 12 months

• Mentee records: for the length of your programme plus 2 years

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe

• Financial records: 7 years, as New Zealand tax law requires

After that, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you

• Ask us to correct anything inaccurate

• Ask us to delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it

• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

Email us using the details below and we will respond within 20 working days. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies to work properly and to understand how visitors use it. We may use analytics tools and the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure our advertising. These tools collect information such as pages visited, device type, and approximate location, not your name or contact details.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
